microFIT Enhancements


On August 29, 2014, the Minister of Energy directed OPA to conduct focused stakeholder engagement, in consultation with the Ministry of Energy, to inform potential changes to the microFIT Program for implementation in 2015. As a framework for this engagement process, the OPA has posted a discussion paper that outlines proposed enhancements to the microFIT Program that are being considered.

Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), formerly Ontario Power Authority (OPA), was helding webinars on January 20 and 22, 2015, discussing the proposed enhancements to the 2015 Feed-In Tariff (FIT) and microFIT programs and to review the stakeholder feedback received on the draft Large Renewable Procurement Request for Proposals. These webinars were live broadcasts of sessions held with industry associations including: APPrO, the Biogas Association, the Canadian Bioenergy Association, CanSIA, CanWEA, the FCPC, OSEA, and the OWA.
